engulfing keeps what it needs to run your account and nothing to sell. We do not show advertising and do not share your data with anyone for theirs.
Your name, email address, country and timezone; a hash of your password if you set one (never the password itself); and the dates you signed up, confirmed your address, were approved and last signed in. We also count failed sign-in attempts so we can lock an account under attack. Every account is reviewed by hand before it can be used.
If you choose Continue with Google, Google tells us your name, your email address, that Google has verified it, and an identifier for your Google account. We store the identifier so the same Google account signs you in next time; you can unlink it on your account page. We do not receive your Google password, contacts, files or anything else, and we use the information only to sign you in.
Instruments you add to your watchlist, and the browser push subscription if you ask to be notified about the newswire. These stay tied to your account and are deleted with it.
We email you to confirm your address, reset your password and tell you when your account is approved. These messages are sent through a transactional email provider on our behalf; they carry one link each and no tracking.
A signed session cookie keeps you signed in, and a second one does if you ask to stay signed in. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Like every web server, ours logs each request - the address, your IP address and your browser's user agent - which we use to keep the site running and to understand traffic.
On Google Cloud, in the United States. Access is limited to the people who operate engulfing.
To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, or to close your account, write to info@engulfing.com. Deleting your account deletes your watchlist and unlinks any push subscription with it.
